The How, the What & the Where of Blessing

Blessing is such a broad and beautiful concept.
It’s something we could spend sermons, teachings, and entire seasons unpacking.
But for now, let’s simply break down Sunday’s message.
Many of us think blessing is something God does for us ,something we work toward or earn.
But blessing itself is the gift.
It is something God gives to us.
It’s not something we strive for. God blesses us out of His abundant grace, love, and mercy.

The How
Blessing starts with God, not with us.
It flows from relational unity with Him.
When we abide in Christ, blessing becomes overflow.
Genesis 1:22 (NKJV)
“And God blessed them, saying, ‘Be fruitful and multiply…’”
Blessing is spoken. God pronounced a blessing over them.
Before effort. Before achievement. Before striving, God blessed.

The What
Blessing is more than having something ,it is provision with purpose.
God supplies us, but He also assigns meaning to what He gives.
Blessing isn’t accumulation; it’s activation. It’s doing something intentional with what we’ve been given.
James 1:17 (NKJV)
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above…”
Ephesians 1:3 (NKJV)
“He has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”
Blessing is not only material, it is spiritual, meaningful, and purposeful.

The Where
Blessing is never meant to stop with us.
It moves outward into people, communities, and places.
We are channels of blessing, not containers.
God blesses us abundantly so that others can experience His goodness through us. You know the saying;”We are blessed to be a blessing.”
Did you catch that? You ARE blessed, not will be, not once were.
You are blessed.
Genesis 12:2–3 (NKJV)
“I will bless you… and you shall be a blessing… and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
God blesses us with others in mind. Blessing connects us to His purpose.
The blessing of God is the promise of provision.
Now, I spent three paragraphs breaking down Sunday’s message, and I can’t let you go without uplifting you 😅
So I’ll leave you with this for the week:
Remember, you were blessed before you did anything. God already blessed you.
So even in hardships, even in struggles, God’s blessing remains, and His blessings are endless.
📌 You are exceedingly and abundantly blessed
📌 You are blessed with every spiritual blessing
📌 The favor of God rests upon you!

Walk in it, live in it. You are blessed.
The Lord bless you and keep you, beloveds.

Love -Shaniel 🤍
