System override

Sunday, Pastor Matt had an incredible sermon on peace, survival mode, and the way God wants to override the broken systems we carry internally.
And honestly, it stayed with me long after church ended. As I journeyed through the last 2 days and prayed about it, I realized how many of us are no longer truly living, we are surviving.
One phone call changes our atmosphere. One delay sends us spiralling. One conversation awakens fear, anxiety, insecurity, or overthinking (in me, definitely).
And after a while, survival starts feeling normal. Pastor Matt said something that hit me deeply: many people are in a season where they are supposed to be thriving, but internally they are still operating from a survival mindset.
And surviving eventually turns into striving. Striving to control.
Striving to hold everything together. Striving to protect yourself emotionally before life hurts you again.
But Phill 4 reminds us of another way: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
Jesus Himself said, “In this world you will have trouble.” (John 16:33)
But heaven offers us something the world cannot manufacture: Peace that overrides the fear!
The actual peace of God.
The kind of peace that walks into chaos and says, “I will stand guard here.”
Fear knocks.
Peace answers.
Shame knocks.
Peace answers.
Control knocks.
Peace answers.
As I prayed through this message during the week, I realized something personally too:
Sometimes we ask God to carry things we have not truly surrendered.
We pray… and then immediately pick the burden back up in our minds.
We replay conversations.
Overthink outcomes.
Prepare for worst-case scenarios.
Meanwhile God is saying, “Leave it with Me.”
Prayer reconnects us.
Supplication releases the burden. Thanksgiving activates trust.
And maybe that is the invitation right now: To surrender deeply enough for heaven to override the system.
Lord, override my fear.
Override my exhaustion.
Override my panic.
Override the survival mindset inside of me.
Teach me how to live from Your peace instead.
