There is something deeply humbling about realizing that the God who created galaxies, who spoke light into existence, and who holds the universe together, chooses to work through ordinary people like you and me.

Does God need us? In His sovereignty, no. He could accomplish His purposes with a single word. Yet in His love, He invites us. He delights in partnering with His children. He places His hand upon ordinary lives and says, “Come with Me. Let’s build My Kingdom together.”

Isaiah understood this moment. Standing before the holiness of God, his first response was not confidence but unworthiness.

“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined!” (Isai 6:5)

But after God cleansed him, a question echoed through heaven: “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” (Isai 6:8)

Isaiah didn’t ask for more qualifications. He didn’t wait until he felt ready. He simply answered, “Here am I. Send me!”

That has always been God’s invitation.

Jesus painted this picture beautifully with His own life. “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…” (Ma 10:45). If the King of kings wrapped a towel around His waist to wash feet, how can we believe that following Him is about being spectators instead of servants?

The Church was never designed to be a building we attend once a week. It is a family we belong to. A community where we serve one another, grow together, carry each other’s burdens, and become the hands and feet of Jesus in a hurting world. We were never meant to walk this journey alone.

*Faith was never intended to remain private*. A living faith always overflows into action. It builds homes, restores marriages, comforts the broken, feeds the hungry, welcomes the lonely, and points people toward Jesus. The Gospel changes us, but it also changes every room we enter.

Sometimes we think God is looking for the most gifted, the most eloquent, or the most experienced person in the room. Scripture tells a different story. Throughout the Bible, He repeatedly chose shepherds, fishermen, tax collectors, and ordinary men and women whose greatest qualification was simply this: they were available.

God is not searching for perfection. He is looking for willing hearts. You don’t have to have all the answers. You don’t have to be the loudest voice or the strongest leader. You simply have to say, “Lord, here I am.”

Imagine what our communities would look like if every believer chose to serve instead of waiting to be served. If every person understood that they belong, that they have a place, and that God has uniquely equipped them to strengthen His Church. This is the vision Jesus established from the very beginning: a people united in love, growing together, serving together, and revealing His heart to the world.

Today, don’t ask, “Does God really need me?”

Instead ask, “Lord, where can I serve? Who can I encourage? How can I be Your hands and feet today?”

Because while God may not need us in the way we often think, He lovingly chooses to use us. What an incredible privilege that the Creator of heaven and earth would invite us into His story.

“Here am I, Lord. Send me.”
