May this truth speak deeply to you.
But may it also speak through you, because the message of Jesus was never meant to stop with us. It is meant to move beyond ourselves as we choose to make a difference in the lives of others.
Everything is open before God.
Nothing is hidden from Him. He sees the parts of our lives we celebrate, but He also sees the places we would rather hide. And yet, He still comes near.
Perhaps the people Jesus came for are often the very people who thought He wouldn’t come for them.
The rejected.
The broken.
The ashamed.
The overlooked.
The people who felt too far gone.
Jesus didn’t move away from people because of their brokenness.
He moved toward them with compassion.
In Luke 19:10, Jesus tells us that He came “to seek and to save the lost.”
In Mark 1:40–41, He encounters a man who was rejected and isolated, and Jesus reaches out His hand and touches him.
In Luke 15:5, we see the shepherd searching for the one lost sheep until he finds it.
And Romans 5:8 reminds us that God demonstrated His love for us while we were still sinners.
This is the heart of Jesus:
He wants to help you.
He pursues you.
He wants to restore you.
He came for you.
Sometimes rejection doesn’t begin with what others say about us. Rejection takes place in the heart and develops in the mind. We begin to believe that we’re not wanted. That we’re too broken.
That God couldn’t possibly choose us.
That we’ve gone too far. But the Gospel tells us something different.
You don’t have to hide from the One who already sees you. The God who knows everything about you still moves toward you with compassion.
And perhaps today, the invitation isn’t only to receive that truth for yourself.
Perhaps it’s also to become the person who moves toward someone else.
Who is the person you have overlooked?
Who is the person who feels rejected?
Who needs to experience the compassion of Jesus through you?
He Came for You.
And because He came for you, you can help someone else discover that He came for them too.
