It is finished. Jesus has already completed the work, so we can surrender and trust Him because He is in control. We don’t have to carry everything ourselves. John 19:30  “It is finished.” We need constant grace in our lives, especially when we go through difficult seasons. Don’t allow your circumstances to determine what you believe about God. Instead, remember that the condition of your heart is evidence of what God is doing within you.

Don’t blame the situation, but keep going. We can’t always control what happens around us, but we can control how we respond. Bring your burdens to Jesus because He promises to give us rest. Matthew 11:28  “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Sometimes what is weighing us down isn’t necessarily sin, but it may simply be something God never asked us to carry.

Run your race with endurance. Hebrews 12:1 tells us to lay aside every weight and the sin that easily entangles us and to run with endurance the race set before us. We need to keep moving forward and remember that we don’t have to run alone. Connection and support are important because God places people around us to help us through our journey.

Jesus willingly laid down His life. John 10:18 shows us that nobody took His life from Him; He willingly gave it. His “yes” to the Father brought transformation, and our yes to God can also produce transformation in our lives.

The Cross changed our identity. Romans 12:1 calls us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God. 1 Corinthians 2:16 reminds us that we have the mind of Christ, and 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The Gospel isn’t simply about becoming a better version of ourselves through self-improvement, but it is about being transformed by God.

When we don’t know where to go, Jesus says in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” We can trust Him to lead us. And because He has transformed us, our lives should reflect Him.

Matthew 5:14–16  “Ye are the light of the world.” We are called to let our light shine so that people can see our good works and glorify God. Become the lamp. Don’t hide what God is doing in you. Your life can become a beacon to someone else.

We are also called to be ambassadors for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). The way we live, love, endure, respond and treat people should represent Jesus. Your life can preach even when you aren’t speaking.

The takeaway

The way you live is the answer. Keep running your race, surrender what is too heavy, say yes to God, and allow Him to transform you. Your difficult season can become someone else’s testimony, your endurance can encourage someone else to keep going, and your transformation can become evidence of God’s goodness. Let your life be a light that points people back to Jesus.
